The 60-Yard Shuttle Test is a widely recognized assessment of anaerobic speed endurance. It is commonly used in the NFL Testing Combine and by the U.S. Army. The test evaluates an athlete’s ability to accelerate, decelerate, and change direction efficiently.
The test consists of sprinting between markers at 5-, 10-, and 15-yard intervals, totalling 60 yards. Athletes must touch the designated lines at each turn and complete the sequence as quickly as possible.

Traditionally, coaches have relied on stopwatches to measure an athlete’s performance in this test. While this method provides a basic time measurement, it lacks the precision and depth needed to fully understand an athlete’s capabilities and areas for improvement.
Photon’s innovative technology revolutionizes this assessment by employing a 3D sensor system that captures 60 data points per second. This high-resolution data offers coaches a comprehensive view of an athlete’s performance, including detailed metrics such as acceleration, deceleration, and split times at each segment of the shuttle.

By transitioning from manual timing to our advanced 3D sensor technology, coaches can obtain precise, actionable insights into an athlete’s speed and agility. This allows for more tailored training programs, targeted improvements, and ultimately, enhanced athletic performance.
