Photon Sports is excited to partner with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) on innovative football research focused on identifying performance parameters for speed control in elite football, training sensitivity, and their relevance for talent identification.
Using Photon’s patented 3D tracking technology, the research includes:
- Investigating the importance of physical performance profiles in player selection and talent identification in Danish youth elite football players.
- Exploring the relationship between physical performance variables, CODA and speed control in male youth and adult elite-level football players.
- Examining the effects of 8 weeks of additional in-season speed control training on physical capacity and match performance in U15 male elite football players.
“To keep up with a constantly evolving game, new technologies need to be included in our research attempts to better understand the modern football player,” said Dr. Thomas Rostgaard Andersen, Assistant Professor in Elite Football and Performance at SDU. “The ability of the Photon Sport system to collect data on players’ performance with high temporal resolution and precision opens new doors in the football world.”
Michael Almebäck, Senior Business Manager at Photon Sports, emphasized that working alongside Dr. Thomas Rostgaard Andersen — a well-regarded name in sports performance — is a strong validation of the technology and value that we provide.
