Photon Sports’ easy-to-set-up 3D solution and advanced sensor technology have in a short period of time gained a reputation among numerous successful European Clubs, including the entire Swedish women’s top league, Belgian KRC Genk, Club Brugge and many more.
Anders Tånger states that Bundesliga is one of the major top leagues and that Photon Sports are excited to continue to develop through this partnership: “Since launching about 18 months ago, we’ve expanded into six countries and are eager to continue growing our footprint in Europe.”
Photon Sports was chosen by Bayer 04 Leverkusen to provide their cutting-edge tracking equipment, highlighting the club’s commitment to staying at the forefront of player performance optimization. The system will be used in the women’s Bundesliga team and in the male youth academy teams of Bayer 04.
“We are looking forward to getting a lot more insights into our players’ movement profiles whether it be sprinting, jumping or accelerating. All of these are key actions in football, and we want to better track development in these areas, especially of our young players”, said Prisca Volmary, Sports Scientist at Bayer O4 Leverkusen.
While Bayer 04 Leverkusen has previously utilized GPS technology for tracking players’ external load, the partnership with Photon Sports introduces a system that offers unmatched simplicity and practicability. The fast setup of the Photon Sports system allows the club to implement tests and tracking within training sessions more efficiently than before.
According to Prisca Volmary, the club had a very positive first impression of the system, stating: “The way the technology was presented to us and the very close contact that was provided during our testing phase were very professional. But above all we just became convinced that Photon Sports’ main strength is the simplicity and practicability of the system which is important in a setting where time will always be a limiting factor.”
