Test: T-Test Agility – Rounding Cones / Side Shuffel – Left / Right.
What is an Agility T–Test?
The T-Test is an agility test used to assess an athlete’s ability to change direction rapidly while moving forwards, backwards, and laterally. It evaluates several key movement patterns, including acceleration, deceleration, lateral movement, and backward movement. It involves a pre-planned course where the athlete sprints forward, shuffles sideways, and backpedals to the starting position, all within a T-shaped setup of cones.
Why Assess Aglitiy with the T-Test?
The T-Test is commonly used in sports because it provides a simple and effective way to measure agility, speed, and directional control, which are essential for many sports such as football, basketball, and soccer. By testing these attributes, coaches can assess an athlete’s physical conditioning and readiness for competition. Additionally, the test provides valuable insight into how well athletes can handle changes of direction during high-intensity movements, which are common in most team sports

Studies show that 85% of sprints in football involve a change of direction, and 75% of goals are made as a direct result of this. On average, a player makes around 700 changes of direction per match, with 60% of goals being preceded by a sprint.
