Paul has been the performance manager of the Swedish national football team for the past 26 years and is currently working for Tigres UANL in Monterrey, Mexico, as a Performance Advisor for both the men’s and women’s teams. He also serves as Head of the UEFA Football Fitness Advisory Group.
Paul brings a wealth of experience to Photon Sports and this marks a significant step in the company’s journey to impact sports technology, with a special focus on football. In his strategic role as a board member and senior advisor, Paul will be instrumental in guiding the product development and help shaping the company’s expansion strategy. Dr Paul Balsom is a distinctly experienced high-performance football executive practitioner with over forty years of experience in academia, research and international involvement at the highest level of FIFA/UEFA football match activities. He currently serves as the Head of the UEFA Football Fitness Advisory Group and is a performance advisor for the Mexican top LigaMX club Tigres UANL. His past experience includes roles at Leicester City, Hull City, Southampton F.C, Bolton Wanderers FCin England and OH Leuven in Belgium.
