Photon Sports’ 3D cameras and advanced sensor technology have gained a reputation among numerous successful European Clubs, including the entire Swedish women’s top league, Belgian KRC Genk and others. Now, they will help the Belgian football stars in Club Brugge to measure and develop their physical abilities.

Club Brugge, one of Belgium’s most successful football clubs with a strong presence in European competitions, has chosen Photon Sports as a new technology partner.

This partnership will provide the club with new valuable insights on their players’ physics and player status while also allowing Photon Sports to benefit from the input and feedback of Brugge’s experienced performance team, led by Dieter Deprez.

“With Photon Sports’ technology, we get a powerful tool to benchmark in terms of talent identification and development. We chose this solution for its ability to continuously measure players’ capacities efficiently, but also for its quick setup, easy-to-use features and immediate feedback for the players”, said Dieter Deprez.

Michael Almebäck, Customer Relationship Manager at Photon Sports and former professional player at Club Brugge, expresses his enthusiasm for the collaboration:

“The Belgian football league holds great importance for us, as they are frontrunners in developing good football players, based on data and science. It fills me with pride to see my old club, Club Brugge, join the Photon Sports family, becoming the third Belgian club, alongside Genk and KAS Eupen, to utilize our easy-to-use technology. We look forward to supporting these Belgian football teams to develop faster and more agile players while expanding our presence even further in the European market.”

Recently, KRC Genk was the first Belgian top club to start utilizing Photon Sports groundbreaking 3D cameras and sensor technology to measure their players’ abilities.

“As a former football player, I understand the importance of developing speed linked to acceleration and deceleration regarding sprints and change of directions. But it can be difficult to measure the results easily over time. Photon Sports makes a real difference by offering a simple and mobile solution that doesn’t take a lot of time. The whole team can run tests on the field in connection with regular training and it only takes a few minutes instead of an entire session,” said Michael Almebäck.
